FAQ

What is the best hotel for us to stay at whilst attending your wedding?

There are plenty of options in the Harrogate area but the central hub for the wedding will be the DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa. This will be the location that the coach picks up from and drops off at although most hotels are walkable from this area. Please check out the Travel & Accommodation tab for more information

I've seen you are having a child-free ceremony, why is this and will you make any exceptions?

We absolutely adore the children in our lives, but for our wedding ceremony, we have chosen to keep it a child-free occasion. This decision was made with careful thought, primarily because ceremonies can feel quite long for little ones, and we’d love to experience this special moment with minimal distractions. We have also invested in professional videography and photography to capture this once-in-a-lifetime occasion. To ensure parents can enjoy the ceremony stress-free, we have arranged a complimentary nanny service for the duration. Parents are also welcome to accompany their children in this area if they prefer as we will not be making exceptions to the child-free guidelines for any guests. We truly appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to see all the kids busting a move on the dancefloor later in the evening!

Will you be having a wedding registry?

Your presence is present enough but should you wish to provide us with a small gift then we would be eternally grateful for a contribution towards our honeymoon fund! A postbox will be available at the wedding for cards to be posted into.

Someone in my party has an allergy, what should I do?

So does Ash! We've actually picked this venue because of how easy it is to deal with allergens effectively. If you have any allergens, please note them on your RSVP in the notes section and we'll be sure to let the venue know! If it makes you feel more comfortable, you can also follow up with a small note to Ash or Jasmine.

We're travelling from Stevenage like you. Do you recommend any service stations to stop at?

We've had this question a couple of times when talking to people about the wedding! The one that we personally use is Newark Services (https://welcomebreak.co.uk/locations/newark-a1/) We've always found this service station to be reasonably quiet and incredibly clean. It also has charging stations for EVs and an all important drive-thru Starbucks!

Can we post photos on social media?

We would kindly request that you allow us to post the first photos of our wedding. We would however, love to see any pictures you take so please do send them through to Jasmine or Ash!

Can we request a song from the DJ?

Of course! We can't guarantee all requests will be played but if you include your request during the RSVP process then we'll be sure to pass them on to the DJ!

Is there a dress code?

The dress code is wedding cocktail attire. (Cocktail dress or similar for women and a suit for men). We do ask that no white outfits are worn and to avoid navy dresses where possible. Due to the flooring in the castle, heels need to be larger than a postage stamp but heel caps will be provided if this is not possible.

If I’m running late, will the coach wait?

No. Coaches will leave the Hilton promptly at 13:00 to ensure the rest of the day runs to time. If you are late and miss the coach, you will need to arrange your own form of transport to the castle. There are taxi companies in the ‘travel’ tab.
